Giorgi /23, Georgia/

I joined a scout movement organization which is based on full-time volunteering so I have been a volunteer for three years now. I have done a lot through this organization – working with youngsters, making some events like charity and cleaning-up actions and different kind of camps with and for them. It was really important for me to make these steps because now I have a huge amount of experience in many fields. For example – working in different kind of youth policies with youngsters, just to explore the world from a different point of view.
I have got really important professional view for my future life, so at the moment I keep working at the same field as a volunteer, but it has become like a real job already. That is why I gain really much from volunteering in my life.

I decided to do EVS because my life was in some kind of stagnation in that moment, I’ve reached a professional and also personal level in that period and somehow I felt too comfortable, so I wanted to make a new page in my life. I decided to do it in Georgia, because this country was very interesting for me, I’ve never been so far from home!  I spent in Georgia one year and this period gave me a lot of experience, like a new knowledge, a new life experience and love.
Volunteering for me is a way how you can fulfill your interests and hobbies in a free time, and not only. Right now, my job is partly voluntery, partly paid.
Voluntery is a good way to help to a local community.

Emelie /22, Sweden/

My project started on the 1st of July and I am here for one year. After the term it will be easier for me to find a job at home because it is quite rare to be away from the country for a year and to be a volunteer.
Although I have been here for only a couple of months, it is already easier for me to speak in front of people and my English has improved as well!
I decided to take part in a project like this because I wanted to do something really different. I was looking for an official job or an European Voluntary Service (EVS) project, so I had a lot of doors opened. When my sending organization accepted me for the voluntary job, I decided to take my chance and to go to Georgia! This new experience also showed me a bit different culture and climate than it is back at home.
In my opinion being a volunteer means doing things that are important for you, things that benefit you somehow. You get a lot of experience because of it as well.

Oscar /25, Italy/

The reason I’ve decided to come for the youth exchange in Georgia was because I knew nothing about it. This trip here has opened my eyes, it’s so different from Sweden and I didn’t really know, how poor people can be. It makes me wanna help people who are not this lucky as the swedish people. And also I like to see the world, and learn new languages, cultures, meet new interesting people- so volunteering is a really great chance to do this.

Misha /19, Georgia/

Marco /23, Italy/

I decided to be a volunteer this summer in the Netherlands, because I think it’s important to help people and to spend your time doing something good for someone who maybe is less lucky than you. Also creating this network is important because if today you’re feeling bad, maybe tomorrow through the help to another people you’ll feel much better and I believe that it works like a chain, voluntery chain.
I have opportunity to meeting a lot of new people, exchanging experience, sharing personal opinion and learning a lot from people that I’ve met and the programs that I followed.
Voluntering is the best thing that can happen in life.
